Ultimately kidney stones were found only in 2.6% of persons with normal body mass index during the survey

The risk for kidney stones is almost doubled in obesity, regarding a new study of medical school at Johns Hopkins University. Urologists have used five-year data on the health of more than 95 thousand people, paying special attention to their body mass index (BMI). Obesity was diagnosed when a BMI was over 30 kg/m2. A normal range of BMI is between 18 and 24.9 kg/m2, fatness (it's a first sign of increasing body mass, but not an obesity yet) was described when a BMI ranged from 25 to 29  kg/m2. Doctors have tried to prognosticate the probability of kidney stones in accordance with the weight. They've studied both: patients with  diagnosed obesity and healthy people. Ultimately kidney stones were found only in 2.6% of persons with normal body mass index during the survey. And among   obese people a number of those ones suffering from kidney stone disease increased to 4.9 (!) percent.
