Perfusive Acute Respiratory Failure
1
Perfusive form of Acute Respiratory Failure is connected with some blood flow restriction in the branches of pulmonary artery and increasing of physiological dead space. Main causes of Perfusive Acute Respiratory Failure are:
- thromboembolism of a pulmonary artery
- significant hypovolemia (blood loss, dehydration).
At Perfusive Acute Respiratory Failure perfused areas of lungs decrease dramatically, hereupon ventilation-perfusion coefficient increases (VA/Q >1). Besides physiological dead space increases, the area of real gaseous exchange reduces. As the result, hypoxia progresses rapidly. Even tachypnea can't compensate that.
